방탄소년단은 지난 21일 오후 8시(현지시간) 미국 라스베이거스 T-모바일 아레나에서 열린 ‘2017 빌보드 뮤직 어워즈’에서 ‘톱 소셜 아티스트’상을 받았다.
수상 기념으로 29일 오전 서울 중구 롯데호텔서울 크리스탈볼룸에서 기자간담회가 열렸다.
‘톱 소셜 아티스트’ 부문은 지난해 3월부터 1년간 앨범 및 디지털 노래 판매량, 스트리밍, 라디오 방송 횟수, 공연 및 소셜 참여 지수 등 데이터와 지난 1일부터 진행된 글로벌 팬 투표를 합산해 수상자를 선정했다.
방탄소년단의 이번 수상은 하루아침에 일군 성과가 아니다
이들은 빌보드 메인 앨범 차트인 ‘빌보드 200’에 2015년 12월 ‘화양연화 파트.2’를 시작으로 지난 3월 ‘유 네버 워크 얼론'(YOU NEVER WALK ALONE)까지 4개 앨범을 연속 진입시키며 K팝 사상 첫 기록을 냈다.
