Korean ARMY reacts to BTS’ documentary film “Burn the Stage: the Movie (2018)”

Hello I’m Jemmy! I went to see BTS’ new documentary film “Burn the Stage: the Movie” (2018). It was super-touching! I also got to talk to many fans (Army!) of BTS in the movies (CGV Gangnam).

The film launched on Nov. 15 in local theaters in Korea.

“Burn the Stage: the Movie” is BTS’ first documentary film. It shows what happened in BTS’ 2017 world tour: “BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE III THE WINGS TOUR.”

In the film, you can see the backstage scenes and untold stories about BTS members. It’s really about how BTS started small and grew up to be K-pop superstars around the world.

Some of you may have watched the longer-version, the documentary series on YouTube Original, but some scenes are only available in the movie 🙂

S. Korean band BTS perform concert in Tokyo

반일 논란 속 BTS 日 순회 첫 공연…”BTS를 믿어요”

The K-pop boyband BTS gave a concert Tuesday in Japan for their hit record “Love Yourself,” their first in the country for that album.
Despite a recent controversy involving the group, the Tokyo Dome was sold out.
Our Choi Si-young has this report.
On Tuesday, thousands of fans lined up at the 55-thousand seater Tokyo Dome to see the South Korean boyband BTS in concert.
Despite anger over the band’s previous wardrobe choices and stage props interpreted as commemorating the atomic bombing of Japan and the Nazis,… which led to the cancellation of a BTS appearance on Japanese TV, fans gathered to show their support for the group.
“I don’t think it was his intention to wear that t-shirt with the atom bomb. I believe that they didn’t do it because they hate Japan.”
One right-wing protester showed up to denounce the band on a speaker but received little attention, and no large scale anti-Korean protests were seen.
During the performance, vocalist Jimin, who stands at the heart of the controversy for wearing a t-shirt that showed the atomic bombing of Japan, is said to have vaguely addressed the situation.
He thanked the fans for coming to the concert.
The boyband’s latest release topped Japan’s Oricon weekly singles chart last week.
BTS has more shows lined up in Japan, with a concert in Osaka later this month, and shows in Nagoya and Fukuoka in January and February 2019, respectively.
The shows are already sold out.

‘BTS 日 방송 취소’ 논란 확산…끄떡없는 일본 인기 / KBS뉴스(News)

방탄소년단의 일본 방송 취소 사태가 국제적 논란으로 번지고 있습니다.
해외 언론들은 이번 일을 주요 뉴스로 다루면서, 뿌리 깊은 한일 간 역사적 정치적 긴장 관계가 숨겨진 진짜 이유라고 분석하고 있습니다.

일본 TV 아사히가 지난 8일 방탄소년단 멤버가 입은 티셔츠를 문제 삼아 음악 프로 출연을 돌연 취소했습니다.
해외 매체들은 앞다퉈 이번 일을 보도하고 있습니다.
영국 BBC는 “지민이 입은 원자폭탄 셔츠에 한국의 독립 구호가 담겨있다”라면서 “일부 일본인들에겐 한반도 독립을 가져온 폭탄을 축하하는 것으로 보인다”라고 보도했습니다.
CNN도 “한국과 일본은 2차 세계대전 유산에 특히 민감하다”라면서 “일본 식민 지배는 양국 관계에 계속 영향을 미치고 있다”라고 설명했습니다.
지난달 말 대법원의 강제징용 배상 판결 이후 양국 관계가 냉각된 점이 이번 사태에 영향을 끼쳤다는 분석도 나오고 있습니다.
뉴욕타임즈는 “강제징용 판결이 있었던 지난달 양국 간 역사적 긴장감이 최고조였다”라면서 “현재 한국과 일본 관계는 정치적 지뢰밭과 같다”고 짚었습니다.
이번 사태를 계기로 최근 출연을 검토 중이던 일본 방송에 방탄소년단이 출연하기 어려울 거란 일본 내 보도도 나오는 상황.
하지만 방탄소년단 일본 팬들의 지지는 변함없습니다.
SNS에선 ‘BTS의 행복한 일본 활동을 응원합니다’ 라는 글들이 확산하고 출연 취소에 실망하는 팬들의 댓글도 꾸준히 달리고 있습니다.
또한, BTS가 지난 7일 일본에서 낸 싱글 앨범은 일본 오리콘의 싱글 차트에서 여전히 정상을 지켰습니다.

The 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards (MGA) took place in Incheon, west of Seoul, on Nov. 6, 2018.

The inaugural annual awards created four main prizes — Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Digital Album of the Year and Best-selling Artist of the Year — and BTS won two, Artist of the Year and Digital Album of the Year for “Love Yourself: Answer.”

Boyband BTS recognized for developing Korea’s national culture

평균나이 23.7세’ 방탄소년단(BTS), 최연소 문화훈장 수훈

K-pop boyband BTS are back on homesoil after a highly successful American and European World Tour that saw them perform in front of hundreds of thousands of fans.
The seven-member group was in Seoul on Wednesday to receive a prestigious cultural medal awarded by the South Korean government.
Won Jung-hwan reports.

Another big achievement for BTS.
The sensational boyband has received one of the Korean government’s prestigious medals for culture — the fifth rank of the Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit.
It’s given to those who have contributed to the development of the national culture — in the case of BTS, for helping spread Korean culture and the Korean alphabet Hangeul around the world.
The band went to accept the medal Wednesday in Seoul at the 9th Korea Entertainment Awards, a ceremony run by the ministry of culture.
With an average age of less than 24 years old,… the members of BTS have become the youngest ever recipients of the cultural medal,… an honor higher than even a commendation from the president.
It had been given previously only to artists who’d worked for an average of around 50 years.

“Thank you. When we go abroad, we see a lot of people singing along to our songs and studying our language, Hangeul. We feel very proud, and we promise we will continue to promote our culture to the world.”

Only twice before has the medal been given for promoting Korean culture — in 2008 to actor Bae Yong-joon, and in 2012 to popstar PSY.
Their fans are outspoken about why they love the band so much.

“They are very real. Very many celebrities especially in America where we are from, its hard to get in touch what they are feeling. They rarely express what they are going through, and BTS is so fluent with everything, transparent, they don’t seem to hide anything.”

“They just seem like they are having a lot of fun doing what they are doing. A lot of celebrities look like its fake but they seem like they are really enjoying it, looks like its real from behind the scene.”

With one more prestigious decoration on their shelf, BTS will resume their world tour, called “Love Yourself,” with concerts scheduled for next month in Japan.

BTS Received the Cultural Medal from the Korean Government

The seven-member boy band BTS received the fith-notch “Hwagwan” cultural medal in a national awards ceremony, held on Wednesday, Oct. 24th in Southern Seoul.

More events are coming up for BTS and their fan group Army to celebrate.
