In 2018, they were arguing back stage while the members were watching. I don’t think there is necessarily a “right” and “wrong” in terms of the argument itself – I think there were “right” and “wrong” ways of handling the situation. To be straight forward: Taehyung mishandled the situation, I think. I could understand Jin’s frustration when he’s clearly telling Taehyung he can’t move that fast, but Taehyung keeps telling him to move faster, at a pace Jin said he can’t go. He’s telling Taehyung over and over that he can’t go that fast because he might get the wrong tempo, but it’s like Taehyung is taking it in one ear and out the other. In the first place, Taehyung felt like Jin wasn’t taking him seriously. Taehyung stated his suggestion, but as you can tell that he constantly used the phrase, “you need to…” it was an act of telling others what to do, and based on their age, it could be quite offending to Jin. Imagine someone 3 years younger than you telling you what to do. However, it also showed that V was anxious and he really had a strong desire of getting this problem resolved. Taehyung could have approached Namjoon, as the leader, or one of the managers or the choreographers and asked for them to help him address the matter privately and more sensitively. V was annoyed that Jin seemingly hadn’t listened (in my view, he did, but Taehyung wasn’t in the mindset to listen because he wasn’t getting the response he wanted which is absolutely normal in an argument) but I believe he cooled down when RM pointed out that they had to go. Taehyung may have realised that the timing wasn’t right, that he hadn’t expressed himself particularly well and, most importantly, he had been rude to Jin – who, from what I have seen from BTS’ younger days, always looked after him. As we can see, Jin was triggered, not only because he was told what to do, but he was sensitive when it came to topic relating to his dancing ability due to the endless stream of criticism he received, Just like how a lot of us tend to defend ourselves when mentioning the area we are weak at, we tend to use the phrase “I just can’t do it, so what?”. I think it was very clear how Jin felt about his dancing ability, and it really damaged his self-confidence. Taehyung would have known, and it was entirely understandable why Jin grew just as upset and frustrated at V pointing out the flaws as he did. After the argument, Jin looks like he felt guilty and because he loves Tae, he lower his pride; it’s heartbreaking when he decided to apologize first even if he should not because it’s not his fault, He really didn’t hold his status as the oldest member strongly. This senario shows that he is not prideful even if he is the eldest, he even said that, “Pridefulness is good for nothing.” And that’s a great lesson for Army to reflect upon. This shows Jin’s innate maturity. As the eldest, He wanted to put the concert and Army first, He apologised and extended an arm to Taehyung. He even exposed that he has been dealing with depression. It’s sad to hear from him to say,”I got depressed too often but I try to be happy for you guys.” I want to give him a huy him for that. I believe that the other members also feel that way and often hide their sadness. Remember when J-hope was ask why he looks so tired, he aswered, “I am tired everyday, I just didn’t have the energy to hide it today.” and this really melts my heart. The sad part of being a performer is that, you need to show a smile even if you’re sad. Now, notice how Taehyung was the one who ended up crying and not Jin, I feel like it all backfired on Taehyung and he ended up feeling guilty in the end. I think they feel like, since Jin is older, he doesn’t need the comfort and Tae does. But I salute the bighit staff who didn’t leave Jin alone while his other members are busy comforting Tae. But Tae deserves to be comforted tho. No one likes to leave an argument unresolved and now both V and Jin had to put on smiles for ARMY and work together when they weren’t mentally in the right place. I think V was very sincerely apologetic before the members talked about it together, which brought him to tears, especially when Jin offered up that he isn’t always the “happy-go-lucky” person he presents to the camera. Taehyung grew up very quickly when they talked in private and listened to Jin this time, which made Jin more inclined to listen to him too, and they weren’t in the middle of a concert or surrounded by people.
