Since the Korean war started in 1950, the South Korean law mandates all of their men between the age of 18 and 28 to serve for military for two years.
But just recently, South Korean government officials are debating if BTS boy band members namely RM, Suga, J-hope, Tae-hyung, Jimin, Jin and Jungkook can be allowed to defer their enlistment to military due to the significant amount of pride and promotion that they have done for the country not to mention those billions and billions of dollars that they have brought to their country due to their worldwide popularity.
According to South Korean law, an exemption can only be allowed if a South Korean man was able to win a gold medal in the Olympics, thus bringing the widest scale of pride to their countrymen.
But regardless of this policy, few politicians are now suggesting to allow all seven BTS members to defer their scheduled military service.
According to them, BTS represents South Korea’s leading power and the group is doing a better job than 1,000 South Korean government officials combined.
Expectedly, this has made all BTS or ARMY fans happy. According to them, this can ignite a possibility that BTS members themselves will be able to continuously give them the music that once changed their lives.
