According to a report, BigHit is going to acquire Pledis Entertainment, (the label that is home to Seventeen and NU`EST).
Back in July, BigHit also acquired Source Music, which is GFriend’s label.
If the merger will take place, Pledis Entertainment will move its offices into BigHit’s new building located in Yongsan.
An insider revealed:
“We expect that the two companies will create an even more powerful synergy in the future by joining hands. They will open up opportunities such as growing new artists and improving content and their global network based on the combined know-how of both agencies”
But, contrary to the earlier report, BigHit denied the rumors saying that the acquisition hasn’t been decided yet.
They announced:
“We are open to various opportunities, but we have no decision yet on what the reports are saying.”
