BTS 뷔(V)의 특별방송(30일)에 이어 슈가(SUGA)의 대구 학창시절과 가족이야기를 다룬 방송이 31일 오후 5시에 방영된다. 슈가는 한마디로 ‘음악천재’이자 ‘농구귀재’.

학창시절 모범생임에도 예체능 DNA만큼은 연예인을 타고 났다. 슈가의 아버지는 “아들이 초등학교 5학년 때부터 머리 맡에 뭘 쓰고, 음악 작곡기를 가지고 혼자 몰입하는 모습을 보였다”며 “고1 때는 서울에 가지 않는 조건으로 형에게 양해를 구해, 1천만원 이상의 고가의 장비를 사서 개인 작업실을 꾸며줬다”고 말했다.

슈가는 관음중학교(교장 신문호) 시절에도 농구를 잘 하는 음악 청소년이었다. 중2 때는 음악 전공의 조정미 담임선생님께 “방과 후에 개인적으로 피아노를 배우게 해달라”고 요청해, 당시 선생님이 피아노 1곡씩을 가르쳐줬던 이야기를 들을 수 있었다. 졸업 앨범에는 슈가는 남달랐다. 다른 학생들과 달리, 꽃을 들고 있는 연예인처럼 눈에 확 띄었다.

강북고등학교(교장 최창욱)를 다닐 때는 ‘슈가’의 이름처럼 교내 농구부 ‘슈팅가드’로 활약하며, 강북고를 교육감배 농구대회 우승으로 이끌었다. 슈가는 1학년 임에도 2,3학년 선배들에게 작전을 알려줄 정도로 스포츠 두뇌도 명석했다. 슈가의 담임 권재한 선생님은 “학교에서 참 모범적인 학생임에도, 음악과 농구에 집중하는 모습을 보면 이미 스타 기질이 있었던 것 같다”고 회상했다.

한편, 슈가는 2015년 1월에 갑자기 모교인 강북고를 방문해 담임 선생님을 찾아본 후에 후배들에게 번개 특강을 해주기도 했다. 강북고 후배들 역시 ‘불세출의 월드스타’ 슈가 선배를 영웅처럼 여기고 있었다.

TV매일신문이 오늘(30일) BTS 뷔(V, 본명 김태형)의 생일을 맞아 특별영상 ‘BTS 탐구생활’ 〈뷔 편〉을 내보낸다. 영상의 첫 시작은 뷔의 생일 축하파티와 인사말 그리고 대구 서구 비산동 일대의 V-로드 탐방으로 이어진다. 할머니의 손을 잡고 함께 갔던 비산4동 어린이집(새싹반)부터 대성초교-제일고교에서 V의 어릴 적 추억과 학창시절을 돌아본다. 영상취재 도중에는 어린이집 교사를 통해 “뷔의 아버지가 실제 정말 잘 생겼다”는 말도 전해들었다. 비산동에 사는 학생들은 장난스럽게 뷔가 태어난 ‘비산동’을 ‘뷔산동'(뷔가 산 동네)으로 바꿔야 한다는 얘기를 하기도 했다.

또, 뷔가 가장 자주 찾은 곳으로 일본 잡지에 ‘BTS 성지순례 코스’에 지정된 달성공원으로도 간다. 달성공원에서는 뷔가 2015년에 다시 방문해, 그가 어릴 적 뛰어다녔던 곳에서 다시 인증샷을 찍은 포인트를 정확히 알려준다. 이 촬영은 삼촌 아미(Army)이자 아재 아이돌 덕후인 성승모 정신과 의사가 동행한다.

TV매일신문 영상팀은 뷔가 깜짝 방문한 한 식당(한스시)을 찾아 뷔와 일행이 시켰던 그 메뉴 그대로 먹어보고, 뷔의 기운을 듬뿍 담았다.

‘얼굴천재’ 뷔의 놀라운 비주얼도 소개한다. 미국의 한 리서치에서 세계 최고의 미남가수로도 뽑히기도 했으며, BTS의 얼굴 마스코트(비주얼 담당)이기도 하다. ‘BTS 보라해’ 신조어 역시 V의 멘트가 남긴 유행어. ‘보라해’는 무지개 색깔 중에 보라색이 상징하는 ‘상대방을 믿고 서로 사랑하자’는 따뜻한 의미가 담겨있다.

한편, TV매일신문은 한달 넘게 BTS의 대구 출신 두 월드스타 뷔와 슈가의 학창시절 등 대구에서의 추억을 영상에 담았으며, 31일(화) 오후 5시에는 ‘BTS 탐구생활’ -슈가 편-(대구 북구 칠곡 출신으로 본명은 민윤기)을 방영한다. 내년 1월10일(금)에는 보너스 영상으로 ‘대구의 여고생 아미들과 BTS 굿즈’를 내보낼 예정이다.

BTS won big at the 2019 Melon Music Awards and made history YET AGAIN! These guys are seriously having the year of their lives.What’s up? It’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and while it was somewhat expected that BTS would win some of the major awards at the MMA’s, they broke records by winning the four top honors.According to multiple K-pop outlets, the boys of BTS just became the first K-pop group to sweep and win the four major categories at the MMA’s.They won for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for Map of the Soul: Persona, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year for “Boy with Luv.” They cleaned up!And as if winning those four categories wasn’t enough, BTS also won other awards like the Hot Star Award, Best Male Dance, and the Popularity Award. And obviously this isn’t the first time they’ve won some of these major awards.They’ve won in three of the four top categories before. BTS was Artist of the Year for the first time last year. They got the Song of the Year award in 2017 for “Spring Day” and they’ve won Album of the Year on three separate occasions in 2016, 2018, and now, 2019.And BTS ARMY members were flooding Twitter to support their boys on the night of the big wins.But they didn’t just win big this year, they also performed.And while we know that the BTS guys never disappoint, this performance was no different. They did what they do best and delivered show-stopping performances with some of their biggest hits like “Boy In Luv,” “Dionysus,” and “Fake Love.”They brought their signature dreamy vocals and their epic dance moves to take their performance to the next level.And in case you missed the performance, we’ve got a little recap right here for ya.To start off their set, RM performed “Persona” alone before the entire group joined him for their 2014 song “Boy In Luv.”And I loved the school vibes in the “Boy In Luv” intro. And don’t worry, we see Jungkook’s hair, don’t worry we will get to that. For their third and fourth songs, BTS finally played hits from their 2019 album Map of the Soul: Persona.Their performance of their songs “Mikrokosmos” and “Dionysus” was space themed and I was so here for it.
Can we talk about that rotating stage for a second? It’s awesome. Also, I was obsessed with how everyone in the audience had lights to hold up.I was watching this performance at my desk, but I actually felt like I was there for a split second because of how epic this was.And after the group numbers, individual members got to show off their vocals and dance moves with solo renditions of some of their biggest hits.Jimin did a solo version of “I Need U” dressed in all white and beautiful would be an understatement.His dance moves were so impressive it actually brought a tear to my eye.Next up, Jungkook stunned us all by performing “Save Me” solo on water.Last but certainly not least, J-Hope ended the set with an electronic version of “Fake Love” with dancers and strobe lights.The EDM vibes there were not lost upon me.Obviously we can’t talk about every single moment, but with these epic performances and the huge wins, it’s safe to say that the 2019 MMA’s were a night to remember for all ARMY members.But shockingly, that wasn’t all.Jungkook rocked a new hairstyle that night and the ARMY cannot get over it.See, I told you we’d get to it.He debuted red highlights which can be seen in this video.And this hairstyle is a throwback to his red hair days in 2014, when “Boy In Luv” was first released.So it was awesome to see him performing Boy In Luv with the red highlights again! I love a subtle nod like that.And the ARMY was right there with me.They were flooding Twitter with their love for Jungkook’s red highlights.But that wasn’t all.Obviously some ARMY members got even more creative with their tweets.So while there were many awards won and lots of perfect performances, I think the red highlights may have stolen the show.What do ya think?!?
