How to attend a BTS fansign?
All armys would love to attend a BTS fansign, but not many know how to do it.
And, well… it’s complicated.
But firstly, what is a fansign?
A fansign event is where you have your CDs signed, you can interact with the members, talk to them and even hold their hands or give them gifts.
Fansigns only take place during the promotion of a new album and you’d have to go to Korea or Japan to attend one.
So, if you’re an international fan…. bad luck.
There are 2 types of fansigns:
Open fansigns and closed fansigns.
Open fansigns are open for everyone to watch even if you don’t have a CD to sign. This type of event is used for new groups that aren’t as popular.
Closed fansigns, on the other hand, are events where only a few people can get in and they are used for popular groups, like BTS.
So, how do you get in?
As I’ve mentioned before, fansigns only take place during the promotion of a new album.
And the thing is, there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to attend one .
You can’t buy tickets. Getting into a fansign is like winning the lottery. You have to apply and you get picked …or not.
How do you apply?
Firstly, you need to register for their fancafe (which is a website). This is where you will find the information about the fansign: the date and time of the fansign, the location of the fansign, the number of participants, sales period and so on.
But all this is in Korean, so… good luck.
Then you will have to buy a BTS album for the fansign.
Not any album will work. It has to be a fansign album which you’ll only be able to get from certain stores. This will be your lottery entry.
But remember, albums that are not purchased from the correct location at the given dates are not considered valid entries for the lottery.
You have to ask for “Bantan Sonyeondan Fansign”.
As I’ve mentioned before, it’s a lottery. Which means that, the more album you will buy, the more chances of winning you will have.
Usually people who really want to attend a fansign buy hundreds, maybe even thousands of albums and even then there’s no guarantee they’ll win.
Now, how do you find out if you won?
Check the website of the store you bought the albums from. The winners are announced a day before the fansign.
If you won, congratulations!
If not, well… life is suffering.
Here are a few things to know if you get to attend a fansign:
– It usually takes 2 hours
– You can give them presents, even food, as long as it’s not unpacked
– You’re not allowed to record while you’re at the signing table. And you’re also not allowed to take selfies while you’re at the signing table. Unless the staff approved.
And that was it. Hope you found this video helpful.
As always: be nice, be like BTS!
