In a recent live broadcast, V talked to fans and mentioned BTS’s problem with stalker fans.
These fans, also known as sasaengs, are obsessive fans who stalk and violate their privacy.
V revealed that sasaengs are the reason BTS can’t take regular flights and have to use chartered planes instead.
He said:
“I should say this on our team’s behalf,”
“You know how we get on planes by ourselves? We fly on a charter flight. We actually want to fly on a regular flight. But when we travel long distance or short distance, fans may know beforehand that we will be boarding and sit next to us, or in front of us.”
“In those private spaces, we don’t get to relax as much as we want to. So we were a bit uncomfortable. [And] to be frank with you, we don’t want you to do that. […] It’s really scary.”
After watching the video, a fan commented:
“I’ve never understood Saesangs. If you are really a BTS fan then respect them”
And another fan answered:
“sasaengs aren’t fans. they are obsessive people”
“they are compulsive creeps who will do anything to just breathe the same air as their idol and they won’t consider the repercussions that come with their actions”
This was not the first time BTS mentioned their problem with sasaengs.
Back in July, Jungkook was doing a live broadcast when he received a call from a sasaeng.
What’s sad and shocking is that this happens frequently.
Jungkook revealed:
“This is a call from a fan. It’s saying ‘You’re doing a V-Live and I just called to check’. What I do is, I immediately blocked the call. I actually get a lot of calls from sasaeng fans,”
I believe there’s no need for me to point out that this isn’t normal.
Everybody deserves privacy.
