Jimin met Tae before they even came to BigHit, and went to high school together. Jimin was extremely shy at the time, and was constantly being teased for his Busan accent (they went to high school in Seoul, but Jimin originally came from Busan). When Tae found him, he yelled at his friends to stop teasing Jimin, and from that day on, they became best friends. Come the days of selecting members for BTS – although many know that Taehyung was the last person to be revealed, JIMIN was the last person to be selected. During selection, Bang PD-nim had a hard time deciding with Jimin. During a company meeting, when Taehyung was asked about Jimin, Tae replied that he would love such a good, caring friend to debut with him. Eventually, with Tae’s honest opinion being a factor among many others, Jimin was kept as a member. V min refer to themselves as soulmates, best friends, forever together. They’ve been friends longer than any members of Bangtan, friends longer than the very existence of BTS. There are countless videos and pictures of their beautiful friendship which seems like a bubble of beauty just for them where they can completely shut out the world around them and focus on each other. Their friendship is one unlike any other and one that truly is the dream friendship we seek. Jimin was also always there for V when he had a difficult time. They’ve been with each other for comfort, encouragement, and much more. Jimin is also a really good listener, knows how to cheer people up and support them (aka an angel). Tae’s great friendship in the past. He is super forgiving, even when others do him wrong. During a live broadcast, V told a heartbreaking childhood story. He said that when he was in elementary school he had a friend who invited V to his birthday party, but didn’t tell V the location. The friend made him wait three hours in the street until he answered the phone. V said he cried on the way home, and found out later the friend was jealous of his ability to get along with others. The friend apologized and V forgave him – and the two have met since his debut. V even paid for his friend’s coffee when they met! When a deep injury is done to us, we never heal until we forgive. It can be hard to forgive and let go but it’s important to remember that harboring the resentment and holding a grudge can hurt you even more. The word ‘forgiveness’ really means to give something up for yourself not for them. Forgiveness is a reflection of loving yourself enough to move on. Then on that friend’s birthday, he said at school that he was going to have a birthday party. Back then, gift certificates were the trendy birthday gift, so he asked everyone to buy gift certificates and come to his party over the weekend. So I bought him a gift certificate for his birthday and went [to his house]. “I found out that he had purposely told everyone except me where the party would be,” recalled V. “I didn’t know where to go, so I waited outside for three hours with the gift certificate while trying to figure out where I should go.” V said that after he had spent hours calling and trying to get in touch with him, his friend finally answered his phone and told him where they were. “I went [there] and gave him the gift certificate. Then I said, ‘It’s time for me to go home now, so I’m going to leave,’ and left. I remember crying so hard as I walked home.” However, V reported that he later found out the reason for his friend’s cruel behavior. “I heard later that he was jealous of me back then,” he said. “That’s why he didn’t tell me [where the party was]. After some time had passed, he told me that he had been jealous of me, because I got along so well with our friends. The greatest gift in life is true friendship
