K-pop industry has been hit by COVID-19: BTS cancels Korean leg of tour

The K-pop industry has already been hit by the fast-spreading COVID-19 in South Korea but the real problem is yet to come. More and more countries are imposing bans or toughening entry restrictions on travelers from South Korea. And K-pop groups scheduled to hold world tours could face limitations if the host country bars entry of South Koreans. As of today, 38 countries imposed entry bans on passengers from South Korea and 54 countries have tightened quarantine procedures, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is why concerns are growing among the K-pop industry as world tours were almost always part of their promotion schedules.

He Hit Jungkook!! BigHit’s Response, BTS’ Hard Times

It’s been 7 years since BTS debuted
And recently BigHit posted a video of BTS reacting to an interview they did just 5 days after debuting
As expected, they couldn’t stop laughing and cringing at their past selves
During the video, they revealed some of the hardships they went through after they debuted
Back then, BigHit was just a small company and they couldn’t get BTS on a lot of shows
“Back then, it was chaos. We couldn’t get on a lot of shows. If a show was full, we couldn’t get a slot, all the time” revealed Jimin
And even if they got on a show, they had the perform a shorter version of their song so that they don’t take too much time on the show
BTS revealed that they rehearsed for up to 15 hours a day when they were debuting
“We practice all the time” said RM.
“We spend a lot of time on a performance. When we’re getting ready for an album, we move all of the schedule for a month and just do this album, and practice”
And BTS never complained about how much they practiced or the way they were treated.
But fans started raising questions back in 2015, after a video appeared online.
In it, the band’s manager is seen threatening Jungkook, raising a hand at him and shouting: “Get lost while I’m still speaking nicely”
BigHit later decided to fire the manager

But, as BTS revealed, they wouldn’t change a thing about their journey.
“Those days made today possible” said J-Hope
To which Jimin responded: “Those guys made us who we are today”
