Daesangs or “Artist/ Album of The Year Award” are being awarded in numerous Korean Award Shows mostly presented as the year ended or halfway of the year.
Seoul Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards, Melon Music Awards, and Mnet Asian Music Awards are some of these Korean awards shows that gives “Daesang” or the Grand Prize of all categories. These highest awards are generally many depending on the award show.

TOP GROUP WITH THE MOST DAESANG: BTS (41 Daesangs)
It is incredible to see BTS have collected all of their Daesangs’ in such a short time, considering their first Daesang was awarded in 2016, at the ‘Melon Music Awards’ for the best album with “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever.”
It is also a crazy record for the group for rewriting history in South Korea as the only group that swept all of the Daesang awards in 2019 and early 2020. With a dashing 41 Daesangs bagged by the group, it is indeed the most significant moment in the history of K-Pop.
