BTS’s Jimin proved his popularity among teenagers in the United States as he took 1st place at the Teen Choice Awards 2020. He is first place in not one but two categories, namely the Teen Choice Awards and the Most Desirable awards!

Park Jimin, the lead vocalist and main dancer of BTS, was chosen as the final winner of the Teen Choice Awards and ranked first in the Most Desirable category. Jimin is known for having a massive fanbase around the world, and this recognition just proves it.

Jimin had some tough competition. He was up against Harry Styles, soloist and lead member of One Direction, Gerard Way, who is highly regarded as the most influential singer-songwriters in the United States and is a member of My Chemical Romance, as well as Tyler Joseph, who is part of the two-member band Twenty One Pilots, among others.

Teen Choice Awards was launched in 1999 and is hosted by the Fox Broadcasting Company in the United States. Most of their audiences are ages 13 to 19, and they give awards in the fields of film, music, sports, fashion, and television. They are regarded as the top popular awards for teenagers.

Jimin has been dubbed as the “K-pop King” in 2019 and is recognized by many as the representative K-pop star. This is highly affirmed by the results of the Teen Choice Award, where Jimin received 82% of the votes. Jimin also won in the Most Desirable category with a total of 10.4K votes.

Jimin debuted with BTS as their lead vocal and main dancer in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment with “No More Dream.” He has released two solo songs, “Lie” and “Serendipity,” with “Lie” being released in 2016 in BTS’s album “Wings.” “Serendipity” was released in 2017 with the “Love Yourself: Her” album. All of the songs have surpassed fifty million streams on Spotify, and he is the only Korean act to have three solo songs do so. They are also the only BTS solo songs in the 20 most-streamed BTS songs in the UK.

His song, “Promise,” was SoundCloud’s biggest 24-hour debut ever, beating Drake, who originally held the title.
