BTS label Big Hit Entertainment soars 90% in stunning stock market debut

A stunning market debut for Big Hit entertainment, the music label behind K-pop superstars BTS. It opened on the KOSPI at US$236 per share — double the IPO price. The company had a market capitalisation of US$7.6 billion at the end of day one of trading, putting it among South Korea’s top 40 most valuable firms. The listing has also made all seven BTS members multi-millionaires, as they each have shares worth as much as US$21 million.
