BTS nominated for Grammy for third straight year

BTS, 그래미 3년 연속 후보 지명 최초 수상 기대

BTS has been nominated for two Grammy Awards.
It’s the third year the K-pop band have been nominated, but they have yet to win.
Lee Seung-jae has more.

BTS made history on Tuesday, by becoming the first K-pop group to be nominated for the Grammy Awards for three straight years.
However, after falling short of winning an award in the two previous years, all eyes are on whether the South Korean group will finally win one, or even two.
Nominated for the Best Pop Duo / Group Performance category is ‘My Universe’, a collaboration with world-renowned band Coldplay.
The song, with Korean lyrics written by BTS, peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year.
And nominated for Best Music Video, ‘Yet to Come’, the title track to their recent anthology album.
Not only is it the first time a Korean artist or group has been nominated for three straight years, but also the first time that they have been nominated in multiple categories in a single year.
This year’s Grammy Awards is also filled with big names competing in some of the top Grammy categories.
This includes the gong for Record of the year, with “Easy on Me,” by Adele, “Woman,” by Doja Cat and “As It Was,” by Harry Styles, all in contention.
Also, eyes are on who will win Song of the Year, with tracks like “All Too Well” by Taylor Swift, “Break My Soul” by Beyonce and “The Heart Part 5,.” by Kendrick Lamar nominated.
But, the biggest question remains will BTS finally achieve the Grand Slam by adding a Grammy, after having won at American Music Awards and the Billboard Music Awards?
The members have consistently expressed their willingness to take on that challenge.

(2021. May 21st)
“As many of you are already thinking, yes it’s the Grammy Awards. We intend to do our best and go after it.”

The 65th Grammy Awards will take place next year, on February 5th, in Los Angeles.
