BTS performed at the 2020 Grammys together with rapper Lil Nas X.
It was a guest appearance (which made BTS fans not very happy. More about that later in this video)
but they performed incredibly well. BTS sang part of the track together with the rapper and were part of the choreography.
BTS even got to have a secret meeting with Beyonce and Jay Z.
They will be in the US for a while as they will perform ‘Black Swan’ at The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Now, let’s talk about why army’s weren’t that happy.
Fans were excited when they found out that BTS will be performing at the GRAMMYs .
But that excitement turned into disappointment when they saw the behind the stage footage.
The video showed BTS looking like backup dancers, standing behind other singers.
A fan tweeted:
“BTS are not backup dancers. Or backup singers. They deserve a solo stage.”
Another fan said:
“I thought BTS will gonna have a solo performance cause you already put them on the Grammy Performers List.
BUT WHAT IS THIS?”
This caused the #BTSdeservesbetter to start trending on Twitter.
But other fans were more optimistic saying:
“I know OTR was the biggest song of 2019 but feel like BTS should be doing their own thing. That said, the Grammys never have a large number of performances from any format so feel like it’s also an honor they are performing.”
And another fan tweeted
“Do they deserve to be backup singers at the Grammys? No. Am I gonna support regardless? Yes bc no matter what we’re still here for bts.”
