Although some ARMYs found that cringey, Bighit editors started calling him by that name, and BTS members started referring to Yoongi as a cat. Fans are ANGRY: HYBE is shutting down VLIVE, BTS in the military by the end of this year?

Last year it was announced that Weverse which is owned by HYBE, will be integrating with Vlive which is owned by NAVER.

This was called a strategic alliance.

While at first Vlive told their users that no changes will be made to the app because of this integration, now they are announcing that Vlive will be shut down at the end of this year.

This means that all content viewing rights and artists’ channels will disappear.
So fans aren’t happy, especially since Vlive has been such a big part of Kpop culture.

Some Kpop fans feel like HYBE is “ruining the Kpop industry by trying to monopolize everything” and that the agency is “becoming a villain”.

The reason why HYBE is getting involved into so many industries is to replace BTS as the main income generator of the company.
As Jin, the oldest BTS member, will be drafter later this year.
Regarding this, the Korean minister of Culture
said they are committed to finalize the decision
on whether to exempt BTS or not by December.

So this means there’s still a change BTS will not have to do their military service.

The most important factor in making this decision is the public opinion. Whether the Korean population think it would be fair for BTS to be exempted or not.

After BigHit’ statement in which the agency announced they are going to take legal action against the people who spread malicious and ill intentioned rumors about BTS, now YG entertainment is doing the same.

YG requested the police to investigate the spread of pictures involving Blackpink’s Jennie and announced that they are monitoring the situation.

Because of the recent rumors, accusations, personal attacks and invasion of privacy, YG felt they had to do something about it, so they filed a legal complaint.

V lost a song, NEW Run BTS episode, Jin is embarrassed
The teaser for the special episode of Run BTS was published.
And, because of Jungkook who came up with the idea, the members had to perform flying yoga.
As expected, this episode is going to be very chaotic, with Jungkook having fun while the other members are suffering.
Jin can even be heard saying “I am so embarrassed”.
The episode will be released on October 11.

Also, fans started receiving their BTS Proof Collector’s Edition album, which includes in-depth interviews, special content and new photos of each member.

In some of the photos, V can be seen wearing red lipstick and fans love it.

In the album V also revealed how he wrote a song while being tipsy and then forgot where he put the file.
He said he turned off the light, looked at the moon on the Han river and it was so pretty he decided to make a song called “lights out”.
But he forgot where he put it… which is a tragedy.

Jimin received death threats, HYBE is panicking
I’ve read an article titled “BTS’ Jimin receives death threat from an anonymous account & it’s really scary!” Which talks about a person who posted threats towards Jimin on Instagram.

That hater basically said they want to harm Jimin because he stands between V and Jungkook’s love… or something like that.

Obviously that person is either a very young kid or just unwell…
So I don’t think armies have a real reason to worry about Jimin’s wellbeing.

And I’m sure BigHit takes BTS’ safety very seriously, especially since they’ve received death threats in the past.

And now, why is HYBE panicking…
HYBE’ stocks lost more than half their value in the past 12 months.
A reason for that is the fact that HYBE depends mostly on BTS for the income of the company, and the members won’t be able to produce music together any more since they will have to do their military service.
To fix their dependency on BTS, HYBE started actively investing into AI and other IT technologies, and it’s still unclear if this will work.
But I’m sure HYBE will do just fine.
