Why Spotify DELETED Streams on BTS’s ‘Butter’

BTS is currently working on a new album
Every time I feel like I’m working too much, I think about BTS
It seems like they never rest, dropping albums one after another
Recently during an interview, Jungkook revealed they are always working on new music and improving their performances
And right now they’re also working on a new album
“We are producing tracks, prepping an album, and getting ready to approach ARMY with better music” said V

And now, is Spotify being unfair with BTS?
Are they not counting BTS’ streams?

After ‘Butter’ became the most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours
And BTS became the most streamed act
It was revealed that Spotify didn’t count almost half of BTS’ streams
According to BHF Data Analytics, BTS’ songs have been filtered much more than other artists
For example, 47% of the streams that ‘Butter’ received weren’t counted
Also, 38% of the streams ‘Dynamite’ got in the first 24 hours weren’t counted

So, is Spotify being unfair towards BTS?

Fans decided to find out, so they emailed the company
Spotify responded, saying they can’t share information on how streams are counted in order to prevent manipulation
Needless to say, fans weren’t pleased with the answer, so they started trending the #InvestigateSpotify

On a side note, ‘Butter’ broke another record
It received more than 500.000 streams on Spotify Japan in a single day
BTS being the only ones having achieved this milestone

And lastly, another thing BTS fans are unhappy about, and to be honest, for good reasons, is the line distribution
As a fan pointed out, it’s become unusual to hear J-Hope for more than 15 seconds in most of BTS’ songs
So, #WeWantMoreJHope and #JHopeDeservesBetter started trending on Twitter
